Lovingly hand-crafted clothes and gifts for the children you love
I was born and brought up in a rural community where traditional handicrafts were part of every day life. “ Make do and Mend “ was the order of the day and from an early age I was immersed in this world of crafting, learning to knit at just six years old under my mum’s guidance, and later she taught me to sew.
Throughout my career in the NHS, I continued nurturing my passion for knitting and sewing, often making clothes for my two children.
Retirement gave me the opportunity to develop my passion for knitting and sewing. I attended sewing classes to refine my skills, focusing on techniques that gave my creations a polished, professional look. Retirement also brought the joy of grandchildren, which inspired me to design and make children’s clothes for them. Family and friends loved my work and encouraged me to take my pieces to local craft fairs, where they were well received.
I started to become more adventurous, experimenting with techniques such as machine embroidery, which has enabled me to make more interesting clothes and even branch out into cushion making. Making children’s clothes is a passion for me rather than a business .
I’m proud to say that now my clothes and cushions are available at Proper Lovely Shop in Marketgate, Lancaster.
